Tammy Lake

"The foundation of every high-performing team is trust,

and trust begins with how we lead."

My passion for understanding people led to me to the creation of True North Leadership Solutions. Helping individuals gain self-awareness and apply that insight to enhance their lives and those around them is profoundly rewarding.

Early in my HR career, I observed that individuals with a strong sense of self awareness were more effective leaders, while those lacking this quality often struggled in leadership roles.

Over the next decade, I discovered that self-understanding fosters greater kindness, effectiveness, and satisfaction both professionally and personally. This realization led me to explore the connection between self-awareness, kindness & trust — an essential component for success.

Despite increased recognition, trust remains scarce in many workplaces. My mission is to cultivate trust, empowering leaders teams and organizations to thrive.

Drawing on over 30 years of experience in manufacturing and expertise in Six Sigma, TS, ISO, and Lean methodologies, along with my academic background (B.S. & M.A.), I employ data driven processes to achieve this goal.

The journey toward growth and understanding starts from within, and I am eager to embark on this Journey with you.

Logan Cohen
Professional Coach Leader/Counselor/Author

"A rising tide raises all ships!"

Between two decades of experience in the field as a licensed mental health professional and a successful track record of entrepreneurship, I have built a career at the intersection of clinical expertise and leadership development.

Early in my career, I developed a passion  for facilitating group dynamics that foster growth and personal development. Holding a B.S. and an M.A. in Psychology, I integrate clinical insights with leadership training — focusing on emotional intelligence, self-awareness, group dynamics, and resilience.

In 2014, I founded New Leaf Counseling Group LLC, a private practice dedicated to providing therapeutic services. Beyond providing clinical care, I developed and supervised a team of therapists, honing skills in business management, leadership, and staff development—skills I now apply to corporate executive coaching and leadership training.

As a servant leader, I have chaired the Gaston County Community Collaborative and served as the Executive Director of Clinical Services for Children's Advocacy Network, LLC. These roles enhanced my understanding of systemic challenges and underscored the value of collaboration, compassion resilience and strategic problem solving.

In 2021, I authored How to (Hu)Man Up in Modern Society: Heal Yourself & Save the World, reflecting my dedication to fostering self-awareness, promoting healthy conflict resolution and enhancing interpersonal dynamics—essential components of leadership success.

Today, I integrate my clinical expertise and leadership experience to coach business leaders in cultivating emotionally intelligent, resilient, and adaptable teams poised to succeed in an ever evolving landscape.

Our Program

Our Programs

Our program guides your team through three progressive phases, each reinforcing a shared vision, mission, and purpose — all with a focus of cultivating trust and enhancing performance. We tailor tools and strategies to meet the specific needs of your organization and participants.

Designed for sustainability, our program is designed to become your program. A designated team member will be empowered through one-on-one in tools, method, and delivery. Upon completing the program as a participant, they transition into a co-facilitator role, ultimately leading and sustaining the program within your organization.

PHASE I

COMMIT

Alignment of

Purpose - Trust

In this phase participants come to know themselves & each other in a different way, including what they value and why. Safety is created and vulnerability begins to enter in.

PHASE II

CONNECT

Understanding

Others

In this phase, participants apply what they’ve learned about themselves and their impact on others. They experiment with new tools and feedback in a trusted, supportive group environment where failure is part of the growth process. The primary goal is developing effective communication.

PHASE III

COMPETENCY

Developing

Your People

In this phase participants focus on knowing & developing your people. This phase requires application of the many tools we have gathered & mastered. Activities will come from real life as we explore our teams in a new way & apply our findings to improve your teams efficiency.

The ROI on Trust

High-trust teams are the foundation of high performance.

The following statistics from HBR reports that in a recent study 50% of managers did not trust their leaders; this has an enormous price tag in engagement, retention, innovation and contribution.

It is for these reasons that much of our training centers around understanding and building trust among your teams and in your leaders through an action-based experiential curriculum tailored to the unique needs of your organization.
